Description

This Garlic Butter Flatbread recipe is a quick and delicious Mediterranean-inspired side dish that’s easy to make on the stovetop. Made with simple ingredients like all-purpose flour, Greek yogurt, and a flavorful garlic butter topping, these flatbreads are soft, golden, and perfect for serving warm alongside your favorite meals.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • extra flour for dusting

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

For Cooking

  • olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the plain Greek yogurt and stir until a rough dough forms.
  2. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 2–3 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  3. Divide and Shape: Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin oval or round shape, dusting with flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the Flatbreads: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly brush it with olive oil. Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and puffed.
  5. Make Garlic Butter: While cooking, combine the melted unsalted butter with minced garlic and chopped fresh parsley in a small bowl.
  6. Brush and Serve: Once cooked, transfer the flatbreads to a plate and generously brush them with the garlic butter mixture. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can add shredded cheese, chili flakes, or additional herbs to the dough for extra flavor.
  • These flatbreads are best served warm but can be reheated in a skillet or toaster oven.
